Welcome to First Grade!  We will have an exciting year filled with many wonderful learning experiences.  I have been teaching at Kilby Elementary since 1993 and am certified to teach regular education K-3, specific learning disabilities, and psychology.  My educational background includes a master's degree in counseling from the College of William and Mary and a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in special education from James Madison University.  I completed additional coursework at George Mason University to obtain my teaching certification.   First grade is an important year because it is often the year most children become independent readers.  I love teaching first graders...they are eager to learn and have a joy for living!  Please contact me should you ever have any questions or concerns about our classroom.  I appreciate your support and input.
